The wait is over in Oklahoma. Senate Bill 1589 took effect on November 1, 2026. It is the state’s new law against online casino-style games that use a dual-currency system.

The bill history on the Oklahoma Legislature’s website shows a long road. Governor Kevin Stitt vetoed the bill on May 7. Lawmakers in both chambers then voted to override the veto. The House vote was 68 to 19.

The law changes Oklahoma’s gambling statute. It covers online games that simulate casino games, like slots, when players risk a currency that can be swapped for prizes or cash. It also reaches companies that support those games, such as platform providers, gaming suppliers and promoters.

Most big brands moved before the deadline. Gambling Insider reports that McLuck, Hello Millions, SpinBlitz and PlayFame said they would stop operating in Oklahoma on November 1. High 5 Casino ended access on October 29, and Stake.us stopped gameplay there on October 30.

VGW, the company behind Chumba Casino, made its move quietly. SweepsPatrol compared VGW’s legal documents and found new versions dated October 30. In them, Oklahoma was added to the states where players can use Gold Coins only.

That change covers Chumba Casino, Global Poker and LuckyLand Casino. Gold Coins have no prize value, so Oklahoma players can still play for fun but cannot join the sweepstakes. SweepsPatrol says it found no announcement or player notice from the brands.

One question is still open. According to SweepsPatrol, the new terms set no cash-out window for Sweeps Coins that Oklahoma players already held. It advises players to request a redemption and to ask support in writing.

There was one more change for every state. SweepsPatrol reports that Global Poker’s new terms keep Sweeps Coins valid for 90 days after a player’s last login, up from 60.

Oklahoma is not the last stop. Gambling Insider notes that Wyoming lawmakers are looking at a possible ban for 2027.
