Most players accept a losing round and move on. According to Macau’s Judiciary Police, one visitor allegedly found a much less polite answer: a kick.

In an official statement, the police said a casino in the Macau peninsula reported on the afternoon of October 7, 2026 that its staff had stopped a man from mainland China over suspected fraudulent gambling. Investigators say that on the night of October 6, while playing an electronic gaming machine, he repeatedly pressed his foot against the machine door after results were shown. The machine read that as a fault, declared the round invalid and returned the bet to his balance.

The Macau Post Daily, reporting on the police press conference, described the game as an electronic “tai sai” (dice) machine and said the man, aged 52, allegedly kicked the cabinet under the screen six times in about an hour, each time the result went against him. When he came back the next day, security stopped him.

Police put the casino’s loss at no less than HK$13,800 and seized HK$3,500 in cash they suspect came from the scheme. The total amount he gained was still being calculated. A police spokesman said this was the first case of this specific method found in Macau.

The man has been referred to the Public Prosecutions Office on a charge of fraudulent gambling. He has not been convicted, and the allegations have not been tested in court.

The lesson for anyone running games is simple: error handling is part of security. Good backends log every voided round, so odd patterns stand out fast. That is exactly how this one was noticed, through repeated error signals and camera footage.
