$2 Side Bet Wins $186,337 at Cache Creek

Most jackpot stories start at a slot machine. This one started at a poker table, with a bet of just two dollars.
Cache Creek Casino Resort in Northern California says a player from Woodland won a $186,337 jackpot on October 13, 2026. The casino shared the news in a release, and it was reported by FOX40 and The Sacramento Bee.
The player is identified only as Francisco M. He was playing Four Card Poker Progressive. His winning bet was a $2 side bet that feeds the progressive prize.
A progressive jackpot grows over time. A small part of each side bet goes into the prize pool until someone hits the winning hand. That is how a small wager can end up paying a six-figure amount.
Kari Stout-Smith is the general manager and COO of Cache Creek Casino Resort. “Winning over $186,000 is a remarkable moment, and we couldn’t be happier for Francisco,” she said in the release.
She added that the casino is proud to offer a wide variety of table games, where guests can celebrate moments like this one.
Cache Creek is owned by the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation. According to The Sacramento Bee, it sits near Esparto, about a 45-mile drive northwest of Sacramento. The casino opened in 2004. It has more than 2,700 slot machines and 120 table games.
Wins like this are a reminder that table games have jackpots too. A side bet costs little, but the top prize can be life-changing for the lucky player who lands it.
Of course, these are rare results. Most side bets do not pay a jackpot, and players should only play with money they can afford to lose. The Sacramento Bee also lists the national gambling hotline, 1-800-522-4700, for anyone who needs help.
